Has anyone got a windows 8 mobile if so what do you think. My contract comes to an end next month and I'm looking at going back to PAYG. The phones I'm looking at are Nokia with windows 8 and I've been using Android that I quite like.

I'm on PAYG with EE. For £10 a month I get 100 minutes, 1 gb data and 400 texts, don't use anywhere near that for any of them, but I do like taking my internet out with me Only experience I have with Windows 8 is on a laptop, might be better on a touch screen phone

I have had both a Windows phone and also an Android(my present one is a Galaxy Note2)Much prefer Android to Windows phone. Lot more apps for Android than Windows if that's your kind of thing.
Nokia do seem to be the main provider for Windows phone and there are some decent deals out there at present.

Thanks Anne and Phil, I'm with O2 and they have the lumina 625 for just under 100 quid on PAYG. That seems to me the phone I'll get, not bothered about apps much and am coming off a contract and going to put that money towards fibre when it comes in. I don't use 3g it annoys me cos of the speed, the lumina is capable of 4g but I'm not going to use that, texting is the use it will get along with the odd call. I'll go into the shop on the 3rd of next month and get it sorted and keep the same number.

Pay EE £8pm for 250mins, 500txts and 250mb mobile internet (waste of time) Fibre optic instead of 4G seems like a good swap to me.

That's what I thought I don't know how fast 4g is but that 3g drives me mad I aint the patience with it.

Have they sorted out the issues that we were supposed to be getting with 4g and its interference to Freeview channels. There were leaflets posted through the door a while back but I aint heard anything to contradict this.

4G is good IF you can get it in your area, the downside is the price, still very expensive for a small amount of data. I have 3G data with my EE phone and in most areas its very good.

I cant be in the area, thanks Phil, its a bit like when CB came out and the neighbour would interfere with your telly and ask you to fit a filter. A bit cheeky.

Thanks Phil, I have my budget at around a 100 quid for PAYG, they are advertising a Nokia Lumina 630 on telly now same as the 625, did a comparison the 630 has a quad chip but lacks a front camera and auto screen light for the ambient light. ATM Ill go pick a 625 up next month.

So I come off contract on the 25th, sorted it all on my O2 account via live chat, still cant make my mind up whether its the 630 with windows 8.1 or the 625 with windows 8, but windows 8.1 is going to be rolled out for Nokias this month OTA so the favourite is looking like the 625 with more features but a dual core CPU against a quad core.

Ended up getting the Nokia lumia 630 with the quad core processor I'm now trying to get my head round windows 8.1. Its all tiles and sub menus. As the Android pushed Google this pushes Microsoft stuff at every turn.
