Hi Phil
I've just updated to 29, just looks slightly different but add-on seem to be the same.
The Menu Bar seem to be further up the page than usual.

The look has changed quite a bit,it now has a 3 bar icon(like Chrome)in the top right hand corner, click that and it brings up various other options like add-ons,,history and options. Al my add ons worked fine but a lot of the themes were disabled. Apparentely there is an add-on to revert back to the previous version if you don't like it addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/Heres the release notes for version 29.0 of whats new etc www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/29.0/releasenotes/

It disables my fave theme. Apart from that, I rather like v28, so I'll stick with it for now.

Hmmm....I'm typing this post on my netbook using the Chromium browser, and although Chromium is ok, I still prefer the UI on FF and I'm not happy about FF becoming more like Chrome. This being the case, I shall write a sharp letter to those folks at Mozilla! Harrumph..

I changed to Chrome from FF because I was fed up of the number of times it updated. When I click on my browser I expect it to open immediately and await my commands not tell me to wait a minute while it updates itself. Never notice any Chrome updates, it does just as I tell it

Anne.....didn't you even consider opening the FF 'Tools' > 'Options' window, and from the 'Advanced > Updates tab' turning OFF the automatic updates option? Just asking like!

Anyway, I noticed that there were updates for this 'white' mouse' Linux Mint lappy, took a look at them and one was for FF v29. It seems that FF for Linux is now keeping pace with Windows versions of FF. It didn't used to be so!
Well, as this lappy is basically a 'test' machine, I installed the FF update.
Hmmm....not impressed. As was mentioned, it rather resembles the Chrome UI.
So, I downloaded and installed that 'roll back' addon, it does not however roll back to exactly 'as was' It did not for instance, reinstall the FF theme that I had on v28
Even then, it takes a bit of messing, to get it anything like, but it isn't too bad. However, I deffo will not be updating FF to v29 on any of my 'main' machines.
