Hi! I am Mia, 28 years old from Cavite,Philippines. I have a girlfriend in Cebu,Philippines (sea apart). She is currently 22 years old.We met a year ago in a chatroom called ICQ. And then I went to Cebu and met her personally in August 2013. I stayed in her sister's house for 3 days. Her sisters know about us. Everything went smoothly. In fact, I visited her again last December and stayed there for a week. Distance doesn't matter to us, well at least to me. We texted and call each other always. Till earlier this year, her family in Iloilo (she is really from Dumangas, Iloilo--another far away island) arranged a marriage for her. She will supposedly wed her ex boyfriend (before me), with her parents consent. When we find out about it, she escaped from Iloilo and stayed here in our house (in Cavite) for a month.I helped her to find a work and we planned to save some money so we can both send her to school.She haven't finished her college yet, she is still in her 2nd year. She went back to Cebu couple of days ago as her sister demand a help from her. She (her sister) sent their maid away. And my gf must temporarily helped them in some house chores. She will supposedly come back here in Cavite after a month. Right before she leave and entered the airport boarding area, she promised me she will come back. I called her earlier. And it was hell. She said she changed her mind and can't leave her family behind. She can't chose me. I know,it is a valid reason. But it was really heart breaking  |

I didn't know they had arranged marriages there Mia its a culture I'm not familiar with. The arranged marriage husband isn't called Greg by any chance is he.

Hmmm, some parts of the country are Muslim so I suppose that they have 'arranged' marriages. However, my field of expertise is more in the getting out of them, than arranging them, so I'm no help at all!  But, if you ever need advice on skinning rabbits......I'm yer man!  |
