Hi Gang
Those nice people at Barclay`s Bank are so considerate that they sent me an e-mail today telling me about my Account that I don't have.
But I do wish they would get better at English Grammar, Spelling & Punctuation.

Get them on one of our accounts quite frequently. Usually I do not open any of them, just delete unopened.

Hmmmmm....looking at the English grammar in that email, I think I may know what my pal Smudger has been getting up to of late. He's a very naughty boy, and I'll be having words with him.

No problem I don't have an account at Barclays You may not have an account. But there is a way that certain scammers have of telling that if the mail is opened the email account is live. If it is deleted unopened they do not know that the email address is viable.

I delete them from the server. They don't even get within a sniff of the PC. I've used "Mailwasher" for years for just this purpose. You can bounce the emails back too, but you'd be daft to believe that they take any notice, so that soon becomes boring. Mailwasher was great back in the days of dial up because it saved you phone costs incurred downloading spam.

Never open, just delete. That's the way...trouble is people are just too curious for their own good Phil what is wrong with opening an Email you don't recognise, apart from alerting scammers that it is an active address. Opening emails won't infect your puter but opening attachments to them could. The badly written prose may alert you but your brain should come out of the sickbay. Why would any bank you have an account with ask you by email to confirm something they already know? Add to that the fact that in any email from a secure known address one should never use an emailed link to gain access. Best to use the link in your Favs List. Security is far more easily handled than most peeps think. 70+% of security to an experienced user is common sense.

So why even bother clicking the link, especially when you don't even bank with them...

Hi Phil
As I don't bank with Barclays I was just interested to see how the message was worded, and the spelling and punctuation of the sender. which as usual was poor.
