Adobe flash updated and installed google toolbar, up popped scotty the dog to warn me. Toolbar uninstalled, I must have missed the tick box. Yep, it's saved me a couple of times too! Apart from that, I find it easier to edit the Hosts file using WinPatrol than going through the registry. ....... 'Options' tab > 'View HOSTS file' button.............fixed!

And Scotty does his stuff again. "Woof Woof........Scotty has detected that a change has been made to your windows update settings. They have changed from 'ask first to 'auto update'....do you approve these settings?" "No I don't. Give it a nip on the ankle"

How did that change. I have it to notify me of any updates but let me choose what to install.

How did that change. I have it to notify me of any updates but let me choose what to install. I have it set the same as you Nob. I've spent the last hour updating loads of stuff, I'm assuming that something there changed it. (tried to anyway) BTW...I just ran the security checker tool in my LastPass. Gulp....that brought me down a peg or two. I thought that I was pretty switched on with my internet security, I got a score of 34/100 The last few days I've changed a few duplicate passwords that I had in LP (including this site) for secure ones randomly produced by LP....so I expected a better score. However...most of the iffy passwords are only for my shooting sites and rugby ones so I'm not too worried. I also ran their tool, which checks if there is any history of my 3 email addies being used for any security breaches....they all came up clean! But 34/100.......gutted

I get emails I won't get the point of if my speakers weren't on and the little red light showing on the speakers is hardly going to break the bank.
