Eusing? Is that a cleaner? It is downloading and will see what it finds but I would think if I cant do it manually then that cant but Ill see. Update, Nope its still there in MWB even after using the reg cleaner and that entry was the only one ticked to remove. Hmmm...don't know quite what to make of this. I just don't like the sound of summat that say's 'Ransom'....Have to have a think. Sime is very good at this stuff, perhaps he can come up with an idea! Update...found this Nob. Edit-this > www.malwareremovalguides.info/pum-userwload-trojan-ransom-removal-instructions/Looks promising!

That's sorted it, that Kaspersky discs a keeper Dave you can do all sorts with it. Thanks for the help. The reg tree was different to the instructions, the problem was only in my windows reg, cleared it checked the others and they were clear of it. Restore points deleted and a new one set. Job done.

Its got a virus scanner and reg edit and it opens the drives so you can retrieve stuff in case the PC craps out, some other tools I didn't take much notice of also.. very handy to have.

I'm obviously no expert on security programs, but from what I read ages ago, those who apparently are experts, reckon that the Kaspersky security suite is the absolute best there is. Not cheap apparently, but if you are happy enough to pay, accept no substitutes! Those Rooskies always have been a bit paranoid about security innit. Edit.......btw Nob, I really do recommend that you d/load WinPatrol.......... www.filehippo.com/download_winpatrol/ or at least take a look at it. I dunno how many people use your machine, but WinPatrol may have prevented that reg change!

But where these things are coming from I aint a clue. Yea... it opens when something wants to make changes to the registry too. Most times it gives a bit of advice, like "this often occurs when a program has been updated" as when Adobe Flash updates. So....if I haven't updated anything, or installed a new program, if WinPatrol shows something that I don't recognise, I just click the 'refuse permission' box. Stood me in good stead so far!
