On another forum on another site, I posted the following more than a week ago.
Trying to get a W8 laptop to access the printer connected to this computer, However, when I access hardware and devices on the laptop, this printer is not shown and when I click on 'Find printer' I get 'no printers found'. Where do I go from here?
No one has replied probably because the experts there realize that I am thick, thick, thick and that my threads tend to drag on or they just dont know or they just cant be bothered. Whatever the reason I am still being pressurised at home to get the remote computer to find and connect with the printer and I am wondering if anyone here can shine the light in the right direction.

Cheers jal. I only got one reply so to save others time clicking on the link, I hace pasted that reply here: Quote: "You can share the printer across your home network but the computer it is connected to will need to be active for others to use it" My reply: "T his computer is left on 24/7" windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/w...hare-a-printer"You have not said which version of Windows you have but this can also be done in other versions." My reply: " Vista"
Followed by: " Followed the instructions as best I could but still no joy. Will try again tomorrow".

You need to turn on printer sharing on the computer with the printer connected, have you set a network between the lappy and computer?
Install the printer on the laptop by plugging it in and when that's done plug it back into the computer and on the laptop go for install printer search for network printer then it should. Find it if you have turned printer sharing on.
