Arguably, I have one of the best memorys in the whole world. Well, as far as I can remember, I did have. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, I cant remember all that far back nowadays. Consequently, when something crops up that entails accessing the memory that I do have, there can be real problems. Take today, for example. A few minutes ago I was going through some post-it pad notes when I came across one with a reference to Pro-Boards, a url and a user name I use on another forum. Accessed the site only to be confronted with a request to sign in. The user name was not a problem - I had it on the post-it pad note. But the password? The only solution was to fill in the 'Forgot your password' bit. Problem! It asked for my e-mail address. I've forgotten too, that it was also noted on a post-it-pad note. The calvary comes to the rescue in the shape of my daughter who reminds me, probably for the 100th time, that my e-mail is on a p-i-p note. Anyway, filled in the details, got the e-mail and am asked for my new password. New password? How do I know that it will be new? I may key in the same one! What then? Will The Moderator refuse entry? I took a chance, keyed in a few letters and numbers as a password, and here I am. But what to talk about, that's the problem? Give me a day or two and I'm sure that I'll think of something to post. And if I dont forget what I thought of, I will post it. That's a promise. PS I wanted to post the actual smiley that is shown in the tools bar but couldn't find it in the drop down list.

Speaking of Ram, just added 8Gb to the 4Gb I had. Amazon, slowest order to date, took just over a week.

I'm all for freedom of speech, but hijacking my very first post? I must say that nob's reply (Welcome back Weaver, you can add personal smilies in your profile/settings tab.) is very positive despite the fact that he or she overestimates my computing expertise. I find it difficult adding commas, never mind smilies.
But back to the main purpose of this reply. Highjacking!!!! Jal, who started the ball rolling, quickly followed by arch and oncleub, clearly did not think that the content of my first was very interesting and so went off at a tangent. It makes matters worse when I, the author of the thread have no idea what the offenders are talking about. "RAM keep my grass down"? , "Amazon, slowest order to date, took just over a week." ? " and "The orders should be faster now that you have doubled the ram Arch..."). Are these cryptic replies.?
Well you can have the remainder of the thread to do whatever you will with. And as for me? I logged on to start another thread and as soon as I can remember what I was going to say, I will return.
PS when I went to post I got the following message in a little window."This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave - data you have entered may not be saved." If you guys really are trying to get rid of me, just say so.

Weaver 1 No one intentend to hijack(as you put it) your thread, and certainly myself or any other Squatters member never intended to cause you any offence. But please remeber this is the Squatters Arms NOT C/A forums where one wrong word is deemed a virtual death sentence. This is a light hearted forum where most things go without fear of facing life time bans, and all the regular drinkers are the best of pals and as such will do their best to help people with all kinds of problems. As I have already said it isn't/wasn't no members intention to upset you,far from it.I hope as such you will continue to be a member and post as often as you like.

I never for one moment thought that anyone set out to highjack my thread and had the thought crossed my mind I wouldn't have cared one bit. It was tongue in cheek as are all of my posts except the ones that are not. Anyway, quoting myself: "you can have the remainder of the thread to do whatever you will with.", because I am going to spend the ster (anagram) of the day trying to add an image to my posts (instead of a photograph which would result in an influx of too many new female members).

trying to add an image to my posts (instead of a photograph which would result in an influx of too many new female members) Wow ... I didn't know that females had members. But then unlike my pal JJ, I don't go on holiday to Thailand for months at a time. Rock on JJ!.........whatever floats yer boat pal!
