can you please recommend a site which will help my daughter who is having problems with pop ups. She says I gave her one last time she had a problem but I can't remember what it was

Thanks for this, Jack.
I put this on my SOS stick for poxed-up PC's and find it works a treat. Restart the infected PC in Safe Mode, and run this utility.
I do follow up with SAS as a back-up, but now believe ADW cleaner is about the best.
You have reminded me to get the new version.

As the blurb for that program points out, anyone who downloads and the installs a program using the 'default' installation tab is asking for trouble. The 'Ask.com' toolbar is one of the most common addons, there's a google thingy too that want's to highjack yer home page. Only yesterday I installed a new version of Hotspot Shield, if I'd used the 'standard' installation tab, my homepage would have been changed and summat called 'search us' wanted to get in on the act too. Another tip, is to always download from a reliable site like FileHippo. Just my opinion of course!
