In the last wabbitmageddon piccy I saw, it looked like a TX200 (nice one D!) which is an underlever and not a gas gun ( very little recoil in a pcp or cartridge gun) The U/L will have a bit of a kick in comparison. Do you have more than one rifle ratty?

Banjo, you will have to forgive my pal Smudger's ignorance, to describe him as not being the sharpest tool in the box, would be an insult to blunt tools!

Smudger, describing those bunnies as "loving, furry and playful" is furry muff I suppose, but you left out the most important adjective.......tasty! Very important is 'tasty'

Couple of things, having just looked at the "tail/tale" end of this post, although it must be almost 65 yrs since I tasted rabbit, I can still remember the taste and secondly, you'd be welcome on Portland (Dorset) as they NEVER mention the word rabbits there. It is strictly a no-no. Seemingly the rabbits are said to have caused mines to collapse with their burrowing years ago, which resulted in loss of life.

Not a lot of point in exterminating them in Leicester then since they've caused all the mines there to collapse centuries ago,in fact it is now almost impossible to find traces of the collapsed mines there at all.

It's not ALMOST impossible Smudger, it's completely impossible. And that old pal, is because to my knowledge, there have never been any mines in Leicester. There have been a few in the county, Desford, Ibstock, Coalville etc. but nary a one in Leicester. Many of the locals may have the appearance of miners, but stand on me, that ain't coal dust! And btw, I don't shoot in Leicester, the Old Quarry is North of Leicester.

Tough choice between the TX200 and the HW97? But I'm not surprised you went the patriotic route... Good call on the carbines too, all that extra unnecessary barrel length.
Back to the thread!

Old pal, of course I'm certain. I'm certain because as you very well know, the alternative to being certain is to be uncertain, and for me to be uncertain, would certainly mean that I don't know everything about everything that there is to know, and you can be absolutely certain that I do! If you catch my drift!

Back to the thread! e&oe Yep, the HW97 is indeed a fine gun, harder to tinker with than an HC due to the spring compression preset. Actually imo the HW98 break barrel was an excellent hunting tool, nowt to look, at but sturdy as hell and almost unbreakable. I just lurve Ronnie and Reggie tho'!
