Dinky I've just watched "Question Time" and the editor of Huffington Times was on the panel. From your posted links I knew his politics were left of centre but after watching him I now know he he is left of Stalin, Dinky how can you, an ex copper, post links to a left wing idealologist run paper whose readers the force frequently have to confront violently on the street. Dinky might I suggest you take a week away from Cornwall and live in the real world but I suspect that's a no no and you'll continue living in the Never Never Land |

Apparently, none of this mess now was anything to do with her and the last labour government. No sir, silly old Rats obviously failed to realise that at the time! That Huffington fella, the one with the muzzie name, well to be fair,as someone who intends voting for UKIP at the next election, I wouldn't be quoting any articles from his news site myself, 'cos he makes Cooper and Balls sound like a pair of rabid tories! But apart from that, has anyone else taken any notice of this spat between Ed the face and the Daily Mail, 'cos it gets stranger and stranger by the day. Now normally, although against my basic instincts, yours truly would be supporting dopey Ed on this issue, 'cos I too believe, that 'by and large'.... the sins of the fathers should not be visited on their sons. But in this case, it's turning out not to be quite as simple as that. The DM apparently, sez that Milliband senior "hated Britain". Dopey Ed, points out that his dad fought in WW2 for this country. But did he really?... As a Jewish refugee from the nazi invasion of Belgium, what was he really fighting for? I mean, considering that Adolf wanted to wipe the Jews from the face of the earth, what Jew wouldn't join an army that was still fighting Adolf? But in spite of this, I was still prepared to give dopey Ed the benefit of the doubt! Until this morning that is.  'Cos this morning, as I was munching on my french toast (yum) yer man Ed appears on the beeb news to make his case. Imagine my shock when the beeb news presenter (yep the beeb) in response to the "my dad loved Britain" blurb from ED, sez to him "Didn't your dad though, say that he hoped that Argentina would win the Falklands war?"  Wow! ...I almost choked on my Frenchie as dopey Ed stuttered, stalled and tried to patter his way over it....but it was said, and equally importantly...... wasn't denied! This is the dad that Ed the face, has often referred to in his political speeches as his inspiration etc. That, together with the Falklands thing, makes the late Milliband senior fair comment for a Tory supporting paper like the DM. I mean, the Guardian or similar, would never dream of mentioning that a Tory minister was the son of a belted Earl with a castle in Scotland or something..........would they?  |

I think the reason he fought in the war was if we had lost he would be on a cattle truck bound for a camp in Germany. As for him hating Britain, he was in good company when he got to France.

I've been following this with interest, and it seems the Ed has used his dad's name on several occasions, boasting of his patriotism etc. If one side can use him, then so can the other, and that seems to be the Mail's reason for putting the other side of the case.
Actually, I think Ed has stirred a hornets nest that would have been better ignored

DinkY that just brings us back to the point that the EU now has so many members depending on handouts can it afford letting the UK opt out? Surely it is better to adapt the terms and conditions rather than let the whole EU commission go bankrupt? |
