Anyway...the serious stuff! Yep, sometime today, yer boy is eagerly anticipating seeing the joyful sight of a bunch of miserable arse smacked Aussies trudging from the pitch at Trent Bridge, having been thoroughly humiliated by our brave English heroes after losing the 'Ashes' cricket series. Been duffed up and given a good old spanking they have, only an act of God on the scale of the 'Frisco earthquake or the Japanese tsunami can save them now, their arrogant self confidence has been shoved right up their Jacksies, even their own Aussie press is giving them a kicking. Snigger...their are few finer sights for an English sports fan than seeing a bitch slapped Aussie team cop some flack.

Get rid of the immigrants? No, we can’t get enough of them, says German mayor tinyurl.com/pbhojpoWe can send him a few thousand if he wants them that bad . So, do I have this right? This Kraut town is losing truck loads of its people each year. At the same time, truckloads of immigrants are arriving to live in this town. Hmmmm....well here's a strange coincidence, there are large areas of sunny Leicester that have lost truckloads of Leicester people over recent years. Strangely enough, they are also the same areas where truck loads of immigrants, Somalis, kurds etc have moved into! So, if anyone sees any correlation between these two events, will they enlighten me please. Can't work it out meself!

No Smudge, you are getting the brute confused with the animal. Errrr..understandable of course, 'cos both of them were often ridden. Unfortunately, that only applies to one of them now!

Pffft...... Earlier this afternoon, I found a far better use for that license fee dosh. I donated a part of it to the 'John Smith's Smooth' fund ....... a charity for thirsty Sky Sports footy fans, down at the local pub. Fixed

Anyway, earlier today I biked into town to buy myself some nice fish to eat. Got some nice Kippers and a large fillet of Hake from the fish market, then sloped off into a nearby cafe for a quick coffee. As it was warm and sunny outside, I decided that for a change I would do a detour on my way home. I decided to cycle home via the towpath that runs alongside the river Soar, heading South. I accessed the towpath at the 'Castle Gardens' near to the main DMU building and set off. It takes you from the city centre, down by the King Power footy stadium and on to a place called 'Aylestone Meadows' .... a place where me and my pals spent a lot of time as young kids. It's still rather nice along there, but what struck me as surprising, was the fact that along this whole 2/3 mile stretch of river, and bearing in mind that this is the middle of the school summer holidays, there was not one single kid sitting on the river bank with his fishing rod. ....not one! Pffft...back in the day, we had to be there at the crack of dawn to get the best spots, the stretch near the city known to everyone as the 'Straights' was even fished all through the night. However, there is a lot of lovely bird life on the river, on my short ride I saw Swans, Mallards, Canada Geese, Coots and Moorhens etc. By a weir, standing on a stranded log, was a Heron in classic pose. I stopped to take a snap of it, but just as I zoomed in, it launched itself. Wily birds are herons. Pity Al wasn't with me with his dog's bollox kit, I reckon he'd have got a cracking piccy. Anyway, I exited the towpath over the little bridge at a place we kids knew as the 'Donkey field' ..then headed East on my way home. It was a lovely ride, still reckon it's a damned shame that today's kids would rather piss about with their 'XBoxes' and stuff than sit by the river and fish.

The kids round here shoot swans with air guns, They are a bit more hands on than computer games. I'm guessing Kids but it could be immigrants wanting to eat them, I know the Poles eat fresh fish out of the rivers.

It will be the Eastern Europeans that are killing the swans they are quite partial to them. We had a spate of swan killings round here a few months ago and a gang of Latvians were nicked for it.
