"The economy is safe(r) in our hands."
Maybe there's a job opportunity there for writing the self-servatives' election manifesto? No great imagination or experience needed. Just an Eton rifle.
Sure they blame putin and Covid- easy targets, but Brexit obviously has had absolutely zero impact because BoJo got it done didn't he? No one ever queries that do they, or if they do they are spit roasted for being remoaners.
It's a win-win for hunt; pile on the grief astutely designed to kick in and bite deep AFTER the next election, and the floating knee-jerk voters will blame the fallout on Leibore- you know- those specimens that borrow and spend without let or hindrance, but if they should run home by three lengths and a nose they'll still hold the reins of P---O---W---E---R. The highest level of taxation since just after WW II. Unvelievable.
Where's that Quaseye Quarteng silver spoon idiot now? You like cake eh?

An asylum seeker accused of raping a teenager has been found by police in a migrant hotel where children were staying.

Our neighbour is a band 7 nurse employed as a manager coordinating home attending nurses. That's good money, better than I ever realised in a pretty stress inculcated engineering position. She has had seven hand in their notices this week alone, largely immigrant labour, they all cite pressure on them at work and insufficient reward.
I don't blame them.
She has had her fill too and is chucking in the towel at the end of this year for the same reason aged 57. Ten years to go before the State stipend. It'll probably be pushed up to 68 before she gets there.
I don't blame her.
"The NHS is in safe hands". Disingenuous b4st4rds- it's precisely what they've always worked towards- disembowelment by stealth, and we're watching it happen. Those of us with wide eyes anyway.
I blame them.

Don't blame her getting out Steve, if we get a Party who wants to reduce the pension age, they will walk it. Its ok for the MPs to work till 67 or beyond but any manual worker just struggles. By the way, MPs can throw Christmas parties for their workers and who will pick up the tab? that's right the taxpayer. So, enjoy the party at our expense. 🤬

Agreed. No one blames any of them for doing what any non health provision worker would do with nary a second thought. The crunch comes when the lack of staff leads to melt down of the institution. Chemo therapy impossible. X-ray and other scans impossible. Dialysis impossible and so on. All because an ideology puts cash before care in a pecking order. It behoves us on forums like this and elsewhere to keep shouting out, if only so we can claim- hand on heart- that we did not walk silently into the abyss.

I reckon they could do it anyway if it pleased them to do so, but it would only be a symbolic gesture within the accepted legal framework. However, such a plebiscite would carry almost as much weight as a bona-fide ballot.

Too true Dinks. I'm better informed now that I've heard the six o'clock news. I suppose the system of hereditary peers had to be addressed at some stage, but this seems like too much upheaval too rapidly. As usual, Baby~Bathwater. Yer Keir won't be getting my vote anyway, but that's not related to this.
