Cool I use nero as well When you click on the link to download Ubuntu, you will be given the option to Save to disk or Open with Nero. Select the Nero option and things pretty much take care of themselves ! If you have already downloaded the file and saved it to disk (Hard-Drive), you just need to use Nero to Burn a data CD. Make sure that the blank disk is a "R" or "-R" You can't use RW

I have no idea !.........Still using version 7 ( works perfectly on Vista 64 )

I'm not quite sure what the problem is here. I'm no expert on USB stick installs ! There is always the possibility that the image you downloaded is corrupt. I think the best thing to do is this...Burn the image to CD to start with, and then try to boot from it. Remember that the The boot order has to be changed in the BIOS ! If all goes well, we can then move on to the install options.

I just have to burn the image to the DVD right? Hey, it took 5 hours to download it from a taiwanese server? But, 5 hours is better than ten weeks delivery.....

At a guess, I would say that the download was corrupt !
Things to try...
Reinstall...just in case.
Download another copy on another pc (Broadband !! )
You could perhaps send me a self addressed envelope, and I will post you a disk by return !
