There has of late been numerous reports, of security issues that affect Linux systems, despite what some would say about there being " no threats in the wild ". Rootkits are finding their way onto a lot of desktops and servers. With this in mind, it wouldn't hurt to take a few simple steps to protect yourself...................... 1) Make sure that you have strong passwords, especially for the root ! 2) Open the synaptic package manager and install " RK Hunter "

How do I view the log it has created? It says I do not have permission even when as root in terminal.... Nothing on the rkhunter website.

No idea mate ! ( at least I'm honest ) I'm not using anything Debian based ( Ubuntu, Mint etc ) at the moment. If I can find out though...I'll let you know Likewise....If you get hold of the info

Sussed it... I was using 'sudo' not 'sudo su' Opened up the text editor from the terminal then viewed it. Now where do I go to check the results?
