Sorry to ask this, but does anybody know if there's a shortcut for creating a restore point as opposed to having to go through settings and all the rest of it, please? I'm sure it must be possible just to go to Win+R, then type something in but I don't know what. At least some quick keyboard shortcut. Apparently, there is this method, but who needs that? winaero.com/blog/create-a-restore-point-in-windows-10-with-one-click/Anyway, thanks if anyone can help.

The trouble with that, is my parents wouldn't understand that. At the moment, the only way I can see is going in to Windows Settings Menu, and then typing in System Restore Point and selecting Create a Restore Point. It just seems unnecessarily complicated, there should be an easier way.
(My parents wouldn't have anything do with Win+R commands anyway, and I don't know enough about them).

HyperOs. Regrettably you have to pay for it. I don't have it on my W10 box but the guys at HyperOs really know their stuff. Even Microsoft is listed on their customer base. It's powerful software but the initial cost stops most folk. When you see it at work, it justifies the coin. System Restore is disabled because you don't need to waste the space it takes up. Back up and restore is drag and drop. It will clone a live running system despite M$ saying you can't ...

Thanks, but too techy for me at the moment.
I usually create restore points before doing something significant like install a new program or update one, then I can go back if I need to. I know how to, but my parents don't.
I personally don't get why things have to be complicated sometimes, particularly in W10, but that's probably just due to my ignorance/lack of knowledge.....

The "techy" bit used to be in the install, but now they can run unlimited Windows installations on a single partition so that problem has largely gone. Once installed, you can easily talk them through a complete system recovery over the 'phone with a couple of clicks. Sadly it's the money that's the real problem. I used to be constantly in demand from porn jockeys at work asking me to recover from their peccadillos. It used to take me hours and generally ended up with a re-install. I used to tell them to buy HyperOs but if not then don't bring it back to me again. Without exception they didn't and they didn't. I have evangelised HyperOs on here (and elsewhere) before, it's always the paying bit. See it in action and it makes total sense. So does your wallet but the wallet always wins. No connection etc.
