Years ago we used to camp with the family in Bidart--near Biarritz.Then my wife and I graduated to Victoria Surf appartments (Pierre et Vacanes in my day] overlooking the Grand Plage in Biarritz. We always envied those who could afford the Hotel du Palais further along the beach.So we took 5 days there last week Wonderful,but tres cher Used to love body surfing in the big rollers,but to tell you the truth I did so this time with some trepidation--due to my advancing years One plus was that there was not one footie fan in sight ! www.hotel-du-palais.com/ |

Had a few days in Malahide (Co.Dublin)last week at the Grand Hotel.Very pleasant.Hotel has a great situation on the beach with super views.   |

Looks a bit posh and pricey to me. Is there a Toc H type place nearby where a potless OAP with poorly shoulders can get a dry crust to eat and somewhere to lay his old head?  |

When I joined, I recall that I was listed as female John...I don't know how that happened but someone- either yourself of Nob- walked me through the change(!). Maybe it was down to using a "smart" 'phone to access The Forum?
It seems that you can be who or whatever you want to be and write pretty much whatever you want to write from behind the safety net of a terminal on t'interweb.

Royal Marine Hotel,Dun Laoghaire (pronounced in common parlance as Dunleary)  Spent a few very pleasurable days here last week.An old fashioned hotel in the posh area of Ireland,just south of Dublin. This was the view from our bedroom window  |
