TBH I use the edge and don't get any adverts, but I do get rid of cookies with superantispyware quite frequently.

Rolled back, so far so good.

More and more live streaming sites are able to detect if you are blocking ads. If you are, they tell you to disable adblock if you want to watch the stream in full screen and full brightness.

It's clear that they just assume that it's adblock that's blocking their ads, 'cos if I do disable adblock and the ads (as they usually are) are blocked by my custom hosts file, the message still appears and the screen is still minimised.

I think that it's some java script thing that detects if the ad is showing on the screen.

Blowing the lid on it this week is Voat user CheesusCrust whose extensive investigation claims Windows 10 contacts Microsoft to report data thousands of times per day. And the kicker? This happens after choosing a custom Windows 10 installation and disabling all three pages of tracking options which are all enabled by default.

The raw numbers come out as follows: in an eight hour period Windows 10 tried to send data back to 51 different Microsoft IP addresses over 5500 times. After 30 hours of use, Windows 10 expanded that data reporting to 113 non-private IP addresses. Being non-private means there is the potential for hackers to intercept this data.

I did my old works lappie which I "acquired" after a fixed disk calamity, but I'm holding back with my home PC for as long as possible. I've searched a bit with no luck.

An update installed in auto the other day and then the start button wouldn't open anything when left clicked. It worked when a right click was done. I had to do a system restore to before the update and all back to normal, is this 10 still being worked on? Makes you wonder.
