Turned off the sync thing in the mail app, going to use live mail for the e mails. I know what im doing with live mail. If a future update removed it and IE then the mail app is set and ready to go.

Hey totally agree with it being free anyway, just love the feel about an OS just been installed. As for the shadow copies/ windows update backups, when windows updates it stores also a backup of what it installs, into a folder on the C drive, if you don't system restore all the time, then it is plausible to remove these files, all except the last or one you can create. Just in case? The only thing you do not do is get rid of cache files, whether windows/programmes, there is nothing more annoying than to enter your codes and sign into Micro$oft again and again. I have 32gb of ram, 4x8gb, in this machine I built, I know I will never use that amount of ram, so I created a ramdisk 8gb of one those sticks, which acts as a SSD drive, on that drive I navigate my resource hungry programmes like Photoshop/Lightroom/Sony Vegas Pro to put their cache files in there, which helps the speed on opening etc... You really shouldn't populate all the dimm channels as it will put stress on the memory controller on the cpu, but I've never had any problems with the configuration. I still get dual channel/dual channel and overclocked to 4.2ghz, it doesn't really get above 34 degrees C. As for the apps, I've only used the skype version, and had a lot of fuss from it, people trying to contact me, so I downloaded the desktop version and fixed that. But don't really use the apps, I've heard if someone could get into your system it will be through there. So don't use them now.

Talking about getting into your system. I was using IE today and it updated Java, now the thing is the edge cant use plug ins so Java is a waste of time, do I get rid or use it in IE. Also when the next big update comes will IE be removed.

Dunno about IE being removed during the update, i use Firefox and have had Java disabled for about a year. Found this on Wikipedia. "On March 17, 2015, Microsoft announced that Microsoft Edge will replace Internet Explorer as the default browser on its Windows 10 devices. This effectively makes Internet Explorer 11 the last release. Internet Explorer will, however, remain on some versions of Windows 10 primarily for enterprise purposes. Starting January 12, 2016, only the most recent version of Internet Explorer on each operating system will be supported.Support varies based on the operating system's technical capabilities and its support lifecycle".

Edge would be better if it could be customized.

Why they didn't show the home button in Edge by default I don't get. You have to activate it yourself.

I've no idea, maybe they are keeping things slim to make a faster browser.

It doesn't slow it up, it makes going to the home page better I think. You can set what your home page is, and not the news.
