I'll be up in Cumbria next week, but at this time of the year the weather amongst the hills is not conducive to seeing anything much let alone any aurora. The skyline blocks out anything else, bit it IS a bit nearer to Iceland for me! Fingers crossed for more of your wonderful images Al.

Back from (carp weather in) Cumbria now. Young's "Winter Warmer" at £1.50 / pint in The Crown in Chertsey (softy Surrey). A pint for your scribe and a half for chauffeur / "management" and two bags of designer crisps and still change from a jacks! I died and went to heaven. ;<D
And the best thing is it's her round now. We share everything!

Yup. Back in The Crown but driving today ("management" won't drive the VW Transporter, even though it's registered in her name) so I've had to call time on a pint and a half. Life goes on though and we've just decided to come back down here this evening (in her car!)

Young's "Winter Warmer" at £1.50 / pint in The Crown in Chertsey Unfortunately I've no idea about what our members pay for a pint but surely £1.50 is way below your average pint cost? Over here staying non plush I'd find it hard to buy pint of on tap lager or beer in a pub for less than £3.

About a dozen barely perceptible flakes fell on my coat today. This truly is the "Softy South"! Didn't make it back to The Crown. "Management" fell asleep on the settee, and a clandestine approach to the barmaid at lunch time revealed two more barrels to drain at £1.50 a pint.

I wouldn't go out for less.

Over a gallon...I salute you Nob sir! This particular lightweight would have alarm bells starting to ring after the third pint of Warmer. I reckon I could do four (paced out a bit) because I had three with my Christmas family meal. I never could neck loads of beer because of the volume swilling around. That's why I prefer a few heavy gravity ales.
