Been on the look out for a new small freezer as ours is on the blink.OH saw an Indesit one that comes with one years parts and labour + an extra 4 years parts only.So I phoned Indesit to enquire about labour costs. Was told you have to have get the freezer parts from us if it goes wrong and have to have OUR engineer to fit them. How much is the labour I asked...£109.99 for the call out and repair.. So it looks like one from John Lewis with a 2 year parts and labour warranty..extra 3 years is £50.

Does that extra three years start after the 2 yr policy ends.
Curry`s and the rest will try and sell you extra cover but it starts from the day of purchase hence you are losing the first free 1yr warranty.

Roy 'Extra' means in addition to, so a consumer rights lawyer is in order if they say it includes the first year! Shirley!

I apologise people, Curry`s offer an extended warranty not an extra warranty which to me both should start after the first warranty runs out.

When we bought our built in oven from the Coop it came with a one year warranty but they also offered an additional 4 years for £60.They said you had up to the first years warranty running out to take up this offer so about 2 weeks before the year was up we paid the £60 for an additional 4 years.I'm glad we did because about a month ago the element went so it was replaced within the extra warranty period.

Hahem...I'm afraid not Roy....'extended' means longer than the original, IOW.....3 years INSTEAD of 1 year. Case dismissed! Rats, who has intimate knowledge of courts.

Sonic Direct in Bradford seem to have some good deals, with a next day delivery in Yorkshire area. Didn't look much into the warranty, although there is an initial 3 years. Price wise, cheaper than all the leading stores, even Amazon. An extra fiver for removal of old appliance. Can't vouch for the place, dunnow if you've had sealings.

's'true what Rats says. I think that it's illegal to insure something twice?
If a vapour compression cooler is properly levelled, it's unlikely that anything other than the thermostat will fail anyhow...

WTF am I on about...heat exchangers my arse. It's 'cos I was just reading about Craigy's heating problems, and I was thinking of condenser boilers!

Have seen them advertised Arch but never had any dealings with them.We usually stick to either Coop or JL.Tbh I don't find Amazon the best or cheapest place for white goods.(and I don't mean them you snort)

from appliances online now AO That's a coincidence Nob! placed an order with 'em yesterday afternoon for a frost free fridge freezer. Two lads were knocking on the door at 7.30 this morning. All set up and working. Took the old one away for £9.99. Great service and good texting telling you when it was arriving.
