the number of suspects for campbell are being whittled down I've already whittled it down to one. I think he's here to sort us out. It could be said that his comments add some balance to the discussion ... something I've had to do myself on occasions. One-sided diatribes are seldom interesting ... so do we just continue to blow away others by using infantile name-calling ... just for giving their opinions? Spit

Geez, missed this thread being out. Just read through it and it reminded me of the days when we could all have a laugh and take the piss out of each other, y'ken before the PC brigade put their motte's in Yes, and look what`s happened in Rotherham over the past 16 years as a result of the PC Brigades attitude. Shame on all of them.

Hi Campbell
When you mentioned Bigot to be honest it came across as though you were calling Nob a Bigot that's why everybody got upset about it, not knowing you were really intending the remark to be aimed at the Conservative MP's And Nob also got upset the day before when he thought he was also called a Bigot by toejam.
So now you see what the problem was Nob thinking he was being called twice a Bigot in two days.

I to like talking about crime. Question. Why does it seem to be a high proportion of White Caucasian Middle to Pensionable age men that are being convicted of pedophilla? Anyone can enlighten me. pedophilla ? Nope, you got me there pal. If, however you are referring to paedophilia, now there's a question. Maybe direct it towards the Vatican and the Roman Catholic Church. Perhaps they could enlighten you.

Over the years I've been a member of a number of forums, I've never been personally abused by any of the members. Why? Cos in those forums the people have respect, and due to the nature of them (sports) there was a chance of meeting up. You keyboard warriors around the ether will never meet anyone so you carry on abusing them and generally being utter cocks. Good luck. Well Campbell, that certainly is a very vague generalisation, one could almost call it a bigoted view. Like yourself, I have been a member of a number of forums for many years, some technology based, some photographic, and some with a social element. All have been a great source of help, information and friendship over the years, and continue to be so. Respect is given and earned. You, I'm afraid will never have my respect, although you may provide me with some passing amusement, by referring to me as a keyboard warrior and an utter cock. There's nothing vague about it. If you are a keyboard warrior then you're an utter cock. If you're not, then we'll get a beer and talk tech. So if you're offended by this then I'm assuming that you consider yourself to be a keyboard warrior, and an utter cock, and your respect is something I neither crave or require

hang about, weren't the Asians recently convicted on paedophilia in Rotherham mostly young men? It is a disgusting awful thing but by no means limited to any one class of person, even women (to my eternal disgust) have joined in the abuse from time to time.

Brilliant, I can reply to both of you in one post. Campbell (now there's a good Scottish name, except maybe in Glencoe), I made no reference to being offended and am not. So perhaps your assumption is incorrect. If you're buying, then yes a beer will be fine thanks. Maybe I should decline the offer 'to talk tech' as I come on here mainly to ask advice, not give it. However if there's anything you might wish to know about digital, or film photography, then ask away. It's a subject I can talk about all night. Toejam (are yer boots too tight ?)' Spell checkers ? I have no need of them, I was taught to spell at school. Admittedly that was a long time ago, but spelling must be like riding a bike, you never forget how to do it properly. If, of course you were educated correctly in the first place. The Vatican may well have the answer regarding the men you ask about. I'm not sure they would know a Mr Saviie though. Damned spell checkers.

Yep - these would be the places to look if you want statistics and feedback about paedophiles. Vulnerable kids for many, many years were "taken into care" by the Catholic church. They were then subjected to horrific sexual abuse by many (not just a few) perverted "Men of God". And to it's eternal shame, the Catholic Church chose to ignore what they knew was going on. But what was worse, its hierarchy covered up these crimes thereby allowing later generations of kids to suffer the same fate. Spit

Did anyone from the Catholic church get held accountable for this? I'm not saying it's the wrong thing to be doing, but the current public calling for heads to roll will eventually lead to people, including the pcc fella, losing jobs. Did that happen to priests? I'd love to see a pope sacked for covering up this stuff! I think there may have been one in Northern Ireland who was done a few years ago, but can't think of any others...

You make an excellent point here Campbell. As an atheist I have no love of the church, or religion in any form. However I do believe this present pope seems to be doing his best to make amends and also to stamp out the institutional corruption and denial within the catholic church. Leaders of the Roman Catholic church who failed to "respond adequately" to reports of child sex abuse by paedophile priests caused "even greater suffering" to their victims and will in future be held accountable, Pope Francis has said, in a clear rebuke to bishops who helped cover up the scandal and shield abusers.
In his strongest condemnation yet of the way in which the church handled its abuse crisis, Francis asked victims for forgiveness not only on account of those who had perpetrated the abuse but also those senior figures whose "sins of omission" had exacerbated the problem.

I've never been on CA, other than following a link from here to a post on there yesterday. My surname is actually from the northern Irish Campbell, I have, however been to Scotland. I'm not part of a tag team, I understand why you might think that, but hey ho, maybe two people seeing something might make some people think about what they're saying? And thanks for the welcome, I did post an introduction thread when I joined, you should have said hello over there!
