"hi banjo mmmm...not so sure I agree LX has easier upgrade paths = each standalone version (they all are) seems to me to have to reinstall with the new version eg jumpyjackflash v21 redmonkey v14 ...as they say in Spain Complicardo mi Amigo"
Hi mojo. I was only referring to the fact that you can retain your data and swap partitions etc, and just upgrade the necessary. You can "upgrade" without risk to your personal files. With Bill's bilge, you have to backup everything first. I keep my Windoze swap file, backups and documents on a hdd1 for this reason, and that's something I retain from my Linux days.
Hasta pronto!

hi banjo yes keeping ur data & the program on either separate drives better than a partition on the same drive - can do - if ur clever with win*.* by saving data away from the prog drive. however back to JL & their xp situation I cant see their IT dept had any option other than go to win7/8 etc

LG to put 'the first 4K OLED TVs' on sale in September LG has announced plans to sell televisions that incorporate both 4K ultra-high definition resolutions and OLED panels. The firm said a curved 65in (165cm) set would go on sale in Europe, South Korea and North America in September. It calls the move a "first" since other firms sell models that offer either one or the other technology, but not both. But while LG described it as a "game changer", one expert said the move "did not make economic sense". www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-28926795
