Charity Thread

Hi Everyone

When I try to copy the link from someone's entry in the Charity thread by Right clicking their link and selecting Copy Link Location this is what comes up.

I know it comes up with The Breast Cancer Link but it takes up a lot of space to do it.

Whereas before the link to the Charity thread that someone had entered and I had copied came up

When I Right Click these are the options it gives me

Open Link In New Tab
Open Link In New Window
Open Link In New Private Window
Book Mark This Link
Save Link As
Copy Link Location (This is what I Selected)
Search Google For The Breast Cancer Site
Inspect Element (Q)
LastPass
LastPass Fill Forms

It doesn't show as it does when I Right click anything else

Undo
Cut
Copy
Paste
Delete
Select All
Add To Dictionaries

Yep JJ its a proboard thing where you go through that viglink and they get rewarded, I think that's how it works.

I added

# 127.0.0.1 api.viglink.com

to my host file and that stopped it.

Just got back home

Probably a stupid question but is there an Host File on all PC's or is it something you have to download.

On all windows ones JJ, Here's how I do it.
ok start button,
right click notepad then run as administrator,
left click file then open,
then navigate through my computer, local disk, windows, then system32, then drivers,
open etc.
show all files.
Double click Host. You will see the entries.
copy this, # 127.0.0.1 api.viglink.com
then paste under them,
Save and exit.

Or follow this.

My Computer - Local Disk - Windows - System32 - Drivers - Open
Show all files, but couldn't find Host

Its in a folder called etc JJ, inside the drivers folder.

Just as a matter of interest Nob,when you first open the breatcancer thread,if you copy the browser url you get this
thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clickToGive/bcs/home
However if you click first on the pink sign "give Mammograms" and then copy to paste from the browser you get this
thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clickToGive/bcs/thank-you

They do the same thing on this tablet, the same page with the button on.

BTW-the word "breast" reminds me of a time years ago when my browser would not allow me to access sites with words which had a sexual or lewd connation.
Have any of our members yet been required by their ISPs to plump for,or otherwise, the Government's default system which has been created to protect juveniles online ?
Will this default system take us back to the days as described above ?
