So, more about this 'Heartbleed' bug. An email I've recently got. So, I ran the security check which gave me a score of 36...It also gave me three sites which it recommended that I changed my password for. I got LastPass to generate a secure password for all three of these sites and changed my passwords for the new secure ones. I now have a score of 40 and the security check sez I'm safe. I recommend that those of you wh use LastPass also run the security check. Oi!........let's be safe out there!

No, mine weren't for banking either Geoff, (don't bank online) Mine were for Yahoo, Google and EE (T-Mob) Now, almost all of my passwords are the secure ones generated by LastPass.

Hmm, I use the same password I have used for the last umpteen years for every site I register with, except banking for which I have a little gizmo that gives me a new password every time I log on. Never had the slightest problem, and if my password is hacked, the hackers are likely to die of boredom looking at where I've been

Amazon etc or J.Lewis perhaps?

I checked this one out too, and it seems that while Lastpass is secure, the passwords that it generates may be compromised by the websites that you log on to that may not have had their operating systems patched yet. It follows that it is pointless updating passwords until you know that the third party website has got its act together. Am I right in thinking that Lastpass confirms this third party website security hole and lets you know? I think I'll take a closer look at Lastpass.
The other thing is that it seems Android 4.1.1 is wide open too. Good luck with that if you are stuck with that OS on a provider's pre-installed software and you aren't rooted!
I've experienced problems losing posts and PMs on another Proboards forum. The other contributor lost whole threads and even managed to drag off shared PMs from my account too, goodness knows how (Maybe I've been hacked too, but it's only a forum...)
Anne, I wouldn't even consider lodging my debit card details with eBay/ PayPal. It's got to be a credit card for the protection afforded against fraud. The very thought of those dipsticks mining my current account gives me the shivers!

Yes, that's exactly what LastPass does. It tell's you if the the vulnerable website has updated it's certificate, then advises you on what action to take.

well, as I said before, I honestly cannot see what damage they can do to an account generally containing £100 or less. ( and no overdraft facility) If anyone can tell me they can, I might consider changing my stance but in 15 years internet buying I have never encountered a problem
