Anyway...yesterday I realised that it's almost 12 months that I've been with Virgin Media. My contract runs out on the 17th. My deal with them was for the XL broadband package (30mb). I was given a £5 discount for the first 3 months and a free home phone line for the term of the contract. The price for this lot was £27.50 after the initial three months, when it was £22.50. However...the prices were increased from this month by about £3. So today, yer boy was on the dog to them. First up I got a Stani type, although his English was passable, he spoke far too quickly and seemed to have trouble understanding what I wanted, which was the home phone removing 'cos I would have to pay for it when my contract was up. (I'm not in the habit of paying for summat I don't use)I got him to switch me to another dept. Bingo!....I got a lovely Geordie sounding lass from Middlesbrough. We did of course, enter into negotiations. So...for a new 12 months contract,I have had my BB upgraded to the 'Up to 60mbs' one and I have retained the free home phone that I don't use, for TWO years. This for the princely sum of £27.50pm (increase has been scrubbed) One minute after putting my mobile down...my Super Hub router began blinking. I checked my BB speed. Not bad for first go. It may take a while for it to get up to speed.Yer boy did good! Well actually, it didn't take long! .... speedtest.net/result/2571394044.pngPsssssst....don't tell Nob.

You have a stonking deal there Dave. Yep, well chuffed Geoff, just waiting now until May, when I can go into the T-Mobile shop and give them a hard time. BTW....got my annual Council Tax bill yesterday. I'm paying less than I was last year. No idea why....I can't understand a sodding thing that it's banging on about. All round, yesterday was a rather good day!

Me too, a two year 'fixed' contract and the price will have gone up twice.
I'm looking at Giff Gaff, £10 a month for unlimited internet which is what I mostly use the phone for

Our Council Tax has gone up by £1 per month That is disgusting JJ in these times of austerity. I think it is time you went to see a friendly Estate Agent rather than lie awake nights worrying about finding money to pay these extra charges.
