and no one from this spineless government does anything(apart from talk that is) ....well they claim theirs back on expenses so why should they give a sh*t Phil what do you think the government should do? Can it legally tell private companies to reduce their prices? Come on Phil, you're the expert, what exactly can Cameron do to legally reduce energy prices? Peter always happy to pay the rip off companies.

Can it legally tell private companies to reduce their prices? Come on Phil, you're the expert, what exactly can Cameron do to legally reduce energy prices? Listen kid and listen good, here's how it works in the lefty mind! Yer capitalist bosses own the lines. They pay those poor raggedy arsed workers starvation wages. Errrrrrr, and pension pay, plus sick pay and holiday pay, and not forgetting overtime pay of course, just to maintain and sometimes replace those lines! Then a bad winter storm blows in, trees fall over and bring down lines. The capitalist bosses drag those poor raggedy arsed workers from their beds and they are made to do what they are paid for. Then the defenders of those working men, yer equally poor and raggedy arsed union leaders like Lord Prescott and Sir Summatorother, demand higher pay, shorter hours, longer holidays and better pensions for the working folks that they represent. They wicked capitalist bosses cave in under the threat of strike action, and they double the pay of the workers. The company accountant screams "Oi!.....bbbbut that will make the company bankrupt!...We will have to put up prices" Notices go out saying that line rentals are increasing. Lefties scream blue murder about filthy capitalist bosses ripping poor helpless working folk off with higher line rentals........... The mad cycle continues! And that Smudger, is roughly how the lefty mind works...........I know this, 'cos back in the day my mind worked like that also. Fortunately, as in so many other things, I began to see things exactly as they are, and not as they are claimed to be Those workers paradise type countries have been tried and tested all over the globe Smudger. They have been about as successful as your attempts to win Mastermind!

Very strange that. I'm with E-On, and my monthly dd is at the lowest that I can remember since being with them, considerably lower in fact. This morning I heard on the news, that they were cutting their gas prices by (I think) 3.5pc. Perhaps I'm one of the lucky ones, but I ain't got a problem with them! crossed posts with Geoff

BG 5% price drop, too little too late for me I swapped a few month ago. No mention of electricity but the wholesale price of that has dropped as well.

Had an email from E.on advising me that there's a new cheaper tariff ( E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v15.) that will save me another £60pa. Jumped straight on it, now paying £30 per month less than I was a year ago. (dual fuel)

Those long term 'lock ins' are always more expensive,me personally just get whatever is cheapest and in EDFs case I can leave if another company is cheaper without paying any exit fees. I'm considering switching to E-on at present but hanging fire a couple more weeks to see what happens.

Well Phil, if you do decide to switch to E.On, make sure that you sign up to their "Price Alert service" This means that they are obliged to inform you of any cheaper tariffs than the one that you are already on, and if you switch, there is no charge for switching. I signed up on Nov 1st last year for a one year fixed price deal, twice since then they have informed me of a cheaper tariff, twice I've switched tariffs!

Cheers Dave EDF operate the same kind of thing. I registered on Money Saving Experts Energy club and apparently they have this collective thing which members sign up too, they then negotiate a cheaper price with some of the energy companies. They have one by Sainsburys Energy which could save me £75 a year, the next one is the E-ON one which can save me £70.
