It's so easy Nob- candy from a baby. I've only just heard about "Showroom Tax" where you are gouged a really heavy road fund licence for the first five years pro-rate to the vehicle's initial cost. What these goons fail to give the impression of grasping is that we are not alone in the world in existing within a "car culture". If you tax motoring too highly our car-based economy will flat-line. I reckon they know that well enough but the trick is to squeeze our lemons right to the gasping point. That's what the drive for power is- hands on the purse strings and what you can do with the cash. Nothing whatsoever to do with representation of "the people". Best Beloved's little twenty years old Almera does around 3.5k each year. I'm willing to bet G covers even fewer miles over the course of a year in her Volvo. It has about 80k on the clock. It has just been raped for £385 road fund licence- that's eleven new pennies per mile or £3-50 per gallon- nearly half the cost of fuel. (keep calling it what it is/was- road fund licence.) It's a disgrace. At 3.5k miles per year it contributes less polution than the latest super efficient lean machines knocking out 40-80k each year. I say put the road fund licence on the fuel- work on the basis that at average mileage you'd be slightly worse off because that's just how things are, but at least it would better reflect road (ab)use and pollution. thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clicktogive/bcs/home/ でつ e&oe ...

Morning all, Another gray dey, another bleek weak. Nob I reckon they've figured that if you can fork out six figures for a lardy dah without giving it too much thought, you can dsmn well afford a mega licence fee like that. They're correct too because it won't deter those folks- the Treasury wins and sod the environment (if that's your religion.) thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clicktogive/bcs/home/ でつ e&oe ...

Good morning Everyone, Dull and dry again. 650 miles G? You should be ashamed of yourself polluting the planet like that. This is exactly why the licence should be apothecated over the vehicle's petrol or diesel consumption. I reckon that the RFL is viewed as a handy way to ensure we get our jalopies MOT'd each year? thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clicktogive/bcs/home/ でつ e&oe ...

Morning all, Still no rain just dull with a grey sky. I read that Brat who's parents pay £8,600 a term is planning to spoil the cenotaph remembrance on Sunday along with his eco nutter pals. Fix bayonets should be the call. thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clicktogive/bcs/home

Morning All, Dull's-ville again. I'm going to sieze the opportunity to give the grapevine its annual seasonal hack back. It completely covers the top and three sides of our 12' x 6' pergola and is superb for the couple of days we can sit outside each year ... A close neighbour's son-in-law made three bottles of wine for us several years ago during Lockdown and we still have one bottle of the Château Hippy left. thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clicktogive/bcs/home/ でつ e&oe ...
